4 days ago · The first thing to know about the HRM-FIT is that yes, it’s got the foundations of a regular chest strap in terms of connectivity. That means it’s going to transmit on both ANT+ & Bluetooth Smart, just like a $50-$70 strap. But beyond that, it’s got all the fancy features seen on other higher-end Garmin chest straps too.
Using the official Garmin soft HR strap. Constantly loses connection to Fenix 5. Same issue with second strap I buy. So the issue is not the strap itself or the battery. The reason I know it's losing connection is in the Connect app, the HR will basically stop updating randomly with large gaps in the graph for HR.

I found an old Garmin chest strap i had and successfully paired it with the Fenix 5 as per the owner's manual, and got confirmation on the watch that it was paired. However the owners manual seems ambiguous to me as to how it works now in the future.
